Fairy Garden

Royal North Shore Hospital: Fairy Garden (Charity)
We were approached by the Humpty Dumpty foundation to construct a very special fairy garden called the ‘Well Garden’ to an existing tiled courtyard on the 5th floor of the children’s ward at Royal North Shore Hospital. We jumped at the opportunity to donate our expertise to design, build and manage the project. Constructing a garden in a sensitive environment with restricted access required expert project management, excellent communication and adherence to strict timeframes. A sterile space became a magical oasis, complete with a talking wishing well, forest music, 2 cubby houses, 2 x 6 metre Chinese Elms growing through the roof, a water wall, a large faux fig tree, arbour, rain forest style planting, outdoor seating area for families and nurses, rubber soft fall paths, synthetic grass, irrigation, lighting, a timber bridge, wide access throughout for wheelchairs and beds. We regularly refresh this garden with seasonal colour and live butterflies.
