Ken Hargraves started Hargraves Landscapes in Sydney in 1964. The first two decades brought many interesting projects including gardens for high-rise developments in the Sydney CBD, eastern suburbs and on the Gold Coast. The company quickly gained a reputation for expertise in extremely challenging and diverse features for commercial developments such as; beachfront gardens with rock sea walls, sand dune stabilisation, waterfalls, rainforests, streams, roof top gardens, mini golf courses and bowling greens. Ken Hargraves was a founding director and first president of the Landscape Contractors’ Association of NSW Inc. which was established in 1980 to improve professionalism and promote a code of ethics for the landscape industry.
